Hotoritori Campsite

One of many DOC campsites in the Kauaeranga Valley, Hotoritori Campsite is the perfect base for mountain biking. A network of trails, and a series of short walks leaves from the campsite.

This is a basic campsite, surrounded by large trees that provide shade and privacy from the road. Amenities include picnic tables, a composting loo and drinking water. 

Bookings need to be made before arrival via the online booking system. Fires are not permitted. 

Unfortunately, the stay was brief, so I cannot comment on the short walks or mountain bike trails as the Kauaeranga Kauri Trail was the purpose of the visit at the time of writing.
