Mana Bay (Patea Beach)

Mana Bay (Patea Beach)

South Taranakis's most underrated beach is Patea Beach. While not recommended for swimming, the scenery at Patea Beach is beautiful. A rugged west coast beach flanked by historic infrastructure from the boom days of the former Patea Freezing Works, Mana Bay is a perfect place to stop for a break, for the night, or simply a stroll along the beach.

Freedom camping is allowed for tents and non-self-contained vehicles, and toilets are open 24 hours a day.
