Glen Nui Reserve
A small, basic reserve and freedom camping area on the banks of Lake Rotorangi. where cattle roam the road popular with water sport enthusiasts, with a boat ramp nearby, this spot will be popular in the warmer months.
As you turn into Glen Nui Road, you know it is somewhere special, flanked by papa cliffs on one side and Lake Rotorangi on the other. Native bush appears in the distance, beyond a lone houseboat and a photogenic steel truss bridge.
With Lake Rotokare Wildlife Sanctuary nearby, bird watchers will enjoy native birds such as Kereru.
Camping is suitable for non-self-contained campers, including tents. Be aware of the large trees and overhanging limbs when erecting your camp.
Fires are not permitted, and camping is free.
