Vinegar Hill Reserve

Vinegar Hill is part of the social fabric of the Manawatu and Whanganui area, being incredibly popular with holidaymakers and day trippers alike. Flanked by the Rangitikei River and towering mudstone cliffs, it is a picturesque spot for a dip (at your own risk) on a hot summer day.
Divided into two parts, The northern end is open year-round, while the southern end of the expansive reserve is open for camping in the peak season.

What you need to know:

Self-containment is NOT required, and dogs on leads are allowed, except between Labour and easter weekends.

Fire bans are in place all year.

Peak season: December 15- February 9. Fees will collected by a ranger.
