Te Mata Peak

One of the Iconic peaks in Hawkes Bay, it is almost a crime not to visit Te Mata Peak on a clear day if you’re near Havelock North. 

Walking and mountain bike tracks depart from the Main Gates car park, perfect For the adventurer with energy and time to burn. The tracks are colour-coded and graded in terms of their intensity and required skill level. 

If you’re looking to enjoy the view, the road winds to the top, turning to one lane in places before arriving at the summit car park, and returns the same way.
