Mangataki Scenic Reserve

The Mangataki Scenic reserve bush walk is a must-do for families and nature lovers. Located on Mangataki Rd between Pio Pio and Waitanguru Falls. The uneven track weaves its way through this largely untouched bush reserve. Enjoy abundant birdlife and a wide variety of fauna, many with identification and information panels, thanks to Project Pio Pio trust. A signposted 30-minute walk, it would be easy to spend double the time absorbing the surroundings and information on this track. Keep an eye out for the trees growing atop limestone boulders, their roots clinging to boulders like claws.
