Situated halfway between Taihape and Napier on the road of the same name, Kuripapango (ox Bow) campsite is an expansive reserve set in a valley of the Kaweka Forest Park. The area offers vast opportunities for outdoor adventure, from swimming or rafting in the adjacent Ngaruroro River, tramping or simply disconnecting from modern life and connecting with nature.

The campsite has non-potable water and long drop loos. Camping is free. 

Fires are not permitted at any time. There is no mobile reception for a significant distance along the road.

During peak times, this expansive campsite can become densely populated with holidaymakers.
