Water Race Track
Located opposite the entrance to Ngarunui Walk is a short walk to the intake for Raglan’s first power station, built for the Bryant Home for Convalescent Children. The track gently climbs through regenerating bush, and shortly before the track junction, the historic water race appears on your right. Appearing much like an earth drainage channel, the historic water race continues to the stream, where the trail ends almost 1 km from where it started.
Allow 20 – 30 minutes for this walk.
Bryant Memorial Reserve is situated 10 minutes out of Raglan. This regenerating bush was planted following the gifting of the land by the family of the founder of Bryant Children’s Home (Now a Christian Camp for Children)
The reserve, divided by the main road, Water Race track is one of two easy, short walks.
